Josie Packard's Lamp

From the beginning, the one Twin Peaks prop that I coveted most of all, was the Art Deco, Russian Wolfhound lamp on Josie's dressing table in the pilot. Perhaps it's because it was in one of the very first shots from the show (the third, to be precise), or maybe it's because the scene when Josie is humming to herself as the foghorn blows eerily in the background has always deeply haunted me. Those few moments in the pilot were our only glimpse into the town of Twin Peaks before the discovery of Laura's body set the town on edge –the proverbial calm before the storm. I can't really account for it, but I had to have that lamp! For years I searched everywhere for the actual lamp that was used in the show. I even stalked around the Kiana Lodge (to no avail) hoping it was still there so that I could offer to buy it. Years later, after making no headway in my quest, I decided that getting another of the same model would just have to do. After months of sleuthing, I found it! Luckily, I found a lamp with all it's original parts that was in perfect condition. Here's a photo that I took of my lamp (below). I've placed it in a similar looking spot in my home, in an attempt to recreate the mood of Twin Peaks.
